This is a remake of a video I did 5 years ago, Ryan Ross and I climbing Buzzard Canyon, June 8, 2014. At the time we didn't know the name of the canyon. As the likely first ascentionists, Ryan and I could have given the the climb our own name, but having found a rappelling anchor in place, we opted not to. Paddling in the Black Canyon on November 9, 2019, I came upon some canyoneering enthusiasts who were descending the final bit into the waters of the Black Canyon. One of those canyoneers had in fact done the first descent and had named it - Buzzard Canyon.
This video shows the thinking process I was going through as I was essentially soloing the route onsight. Essentially because, leading the ascent I only got in one questionalbe piece of protection, a #3 RP.
I would come back in September 2017 and solo the route.
