Realised that my event EDL has been running for 8 years now and that makes me super excited ahaha. I may have forgotten to participate one year, but it's still a tradition that at least SOMEONE has kept at every year since 2016. This is my 7th contribution to the day

OKAY SO ABOUT THE VIDEO. This year I edited with The Dragon Prince, and I've never edited a full video for it before AAAA. My brainrot over it got back wirh s4 (bc it took SO LONG for them to release it). Time skip TDP is my favourite part of it, ngl. I love the designs so much, the character development and the "new" plot (even tho this was always the direction it was gonna go in). Rayla and Aaravos were always my favourite characters, but they really grew in my eyes in s4&s5 and then we have SOREN too. I really liked him in s3 especially, but s4&s5 just made him get that much better in my eyes (also??? the GLOW-UP??? Like not just appearance-wise but PERSONALITY)
I fully support Rayla & Callum as the canon ship, but reading the book between s3&s4 made me really appreciate the best friend vibes going on between Soren & Rayla. The s4 only made me appreciate it more, but then the middle and end kinda made me??? Ship it??? And then s5 rolled around and now I just. Yeah. Thats my ship. The menace and the dumbass. I feel so alone tho BC NOT ONLY DO VERY FEW PEOPLE WATCH TDP, BUT BASICALLY NOBODY SHIPS THEM FHFHFH nobody to scream over them with. Thank you Ame for accepting my screaming over them AHAHAHHAH
I STILL HAVENT REALLY TALKED ABOUT THE VIDEO. But anyway, there IS !!! a story to this. Similar to TDP's actual plot tho
Story is basically. Season 1-3 events happen exactly the same way. Between s3 to s4 Soren & Rayla get closer and there's definitely something there, but Rayla likes Callum (she thinks). Soren definitely feels it too even tho hes a dumbass. Rayla is basically falling for Soren and falling out of love with Callum. Then she does the thing where she leaves (on poor Callum's birthday DHDDJJDJDD RAYLA WHY). When she returns, Callum is for sure upset, but he's trying to make conversation bc he has missed her (it will get increasingly awkward). Rayla is realising the person that she really wants to see is Soren, and it's freaking her out a little bit. Cut to the event where they have to return to the dragon mountain, and Rayla is just looking over at Soren, but everyone thinks she's really looking at Callum bc things have gotten very awkward at this point. Soren is hurt too since they were supposed to be best friends. Ezran is the best supportive little brother though and will support Rayla no matter what. We love Ezran.
Then they have the fight in the forest about the dragon & their relationship bc Soren finally tells Rayla he's hurting too. NEXT DAY HES GONE AND RAYLA IS FREAKING OUT (litwrally like in the series). What I'm trying to show is basically Rayla pining for Soren while also trying to remain aware of what she could have if she sticks with Callum. Soren still really likes her, but chooses not to pursue her bc his duties as the head of the crownguard are just more important. Eventually Rayla has a talk with Callum and she tells him. Callum is really sad, but chooses to support her as a really good friend (bc hes a very KIND PERSON). S5 is basically the same thing as in the original, except anything Rayla and Callum do isn't really romantic. Rayla also keeps thinking about what Soren has done for her, and at the very end of the video (and s5 AHAHHAA) they get together YAY
WOWEEE thats it. I actually struggled to pick a song bc there were too many I wanted to edit with this year. Then I was on a roadtrip with friends and I heard this song again, and I was like !!! WAIT !!! THIS SONG. So I decided to edit it AHAHAHA. I forgot to write down the name tho, so it took me a full day to finally find it again but I managed to since it was everywhere back in summer 2021. The song definitely doesn't really have a happy ending like in my video, since she's probably still just left pining for that person. BUT I WANTED TO TAKE THE STORY THERE SINCE IT WORKS. The amount of manips I had to do tho FHDJDDJDJD
