Twice as good? VW Golf 8.5 R / R-Variant & “Black Edition” in detail - What's new!
Volkswagen R presents the updated Golf R. It boasts increased performance and is available for the first time as a "Black Edition." We've already had the chance to get a first look at the models during a test drive. We'll reveal all the details and new features in the video.
Compared to its predecessor, the power output increases by 10 kW to 333 hp. This means that the power output of the special edition "20 Years of R" and the Golf R 333 becomes the new standard output for all models. The maximum torque of 420 Nm remains unchanged. For the first time, this power output is also available in the Golf R Variant. The 0-100 km/h sprint times are now reduced to 4.6 seconds for the Variant and 4.8 seconds for the Variant. With a "Performance Package," the top speed of the latest generation can be increased by 20 km/h to 270 km/h, 1.7 km/h more than before.
The 2024 Golf R models are easily recognizable by their redesigned front end, featuring new LED headlights and, for the first time, an illuminated VW emblem. They also include new air curtains in the bumper, new LED taillights, and the new, optional 19-inch "Warmenau" forged wheels.
