Today's video is about Berlin and Dresden steam and heritage trains.
🏙️ Berlin's Tram 87: a historic tram route from S-Bahn Rahnsdorf to Woltersdorf. It operates like a regular tram route by regular tariff.
As for steam trains, Berlin doesn't have a regular steam train operation. However Berlin is a place of yearly railway festival, and I will show you a video from such festival in 2019.
🌆 Stepping into a steam train for the first time is a unique experience. While the views along the route in Berlin might not always be spectacular, there's a silver lining: if you're a local, you'll rediscover familiar places from an entirely new perspective – a truly intriguing feeling.
This year's railway festival is set for September 23-24, 2023. I'll be bringing you high-quality footage from this year's event later on my channel.
🌳 Dresden's Park Railway: Our adventure then takes us to Dresden, home to a charming park railway. Despite its small size, this light railway, with a 381 mm track gauge and nearly 6 km route, offers big adventures. During weekends, you can enjoy a steamy ride, while weekdays feature electric trains. What's even more heartwarming is that many of the railway staff are kids.
