Are Ghosts Real? Or do they only exists in our imagination?
Are ghosts real? Each year as Halloween approaches, familiar creatures and characters creep their way out of the deep, dark crevices where they've been hiding all year long. If you look around, it won't be long until you see a pale apparition trying to put a good scare into you. What are we talking about? Ghosts, of course!
Ghosts can run the gamut from friendly ghosts, like Casper, to seriously sinister ghouls that want to haunt your dreams. But they're just figments of your imagination, right? Ghosts aren't real, are they?
Ghosts have been around for a long, long time. From the Bible to Shakespeare's Macbeth, you'll find ghosts mentioned in thousands upon thousands of stories. They're so prevalent that they actually have their own genre: the ever-popular ghost story.
It's only natural to be curious about what happens when you die. Would any part of you stay in this world? Could your spirit hang around and continue breathing in oxygen and such? Who wouldn't want to believe that a loved one could still be around, looking over the living?Why do so many people believe in ghosts? One reason is that many people claim to have personal experiences with ghosts. You don't have to look far to find people who believe that, at one time or another, they've felt the presence of a ghost.
Do any of these paranormal events have any solid science to back up the experiences? A lot of this depends on personal experience, making it hard to dismiss. Moreover, there is no clear definition on what most people agree a ghost is. Are they mental or spiritual in nature? While we can’t discount many reported ghost encounters, we still cannot say for certain that ghosts and the afterlife exist. One thing we know for sure: we don’t really understand how exactly memory and perception work in relation to ghosts/mediums/ectoplasmic events/etc.
Ghost hunters usually try to use a variety of technological, scientific equipment to detect the presence of ghosts. They may use Geiger counters, electromagnetic field (EMF) detectors, infrared cameras, and Ion detectors. Unfortunately for ghost hunters, human science has yet to provide a tool capable of detecting ghostly presences from beyond the spirit world. It makes sense that they would fail seeing as humans can not yet detect them in our own material reality, so why should we continue striving for anything short of the impossible?
There are some people who love spiritual readings for entertainment purposes while others might actually believe there are ghosts out there. Do you think they exist?
