///COMMENTARY
A surprisingly big project that started at the end of last October and is the true sequel to "Prisoner of the Mind"
Although... it was not intended to be. In fact this track was in a conflicting state from its very inception. Born out of my many sleepless nights in my first University semester, it was supposed to be a simple and innocent one-off. A happy little accident to enrich the thin lineup of 2023. But it didn't want to be that. In fact it connected with me. It quickly started representing my feelings throughout my first year of university. Every destructive habit, every bad mood and every poor decision made its way in here one way or another, despite my efforts to hold them back. From this came a confused amalgamation of despair, hatred and self-loathing in auditory form.
But it is not all bad. In fact its original theme of pursuit and identity managed to hide itself within all this negativity. That fact gave meaning to the corruption and spelled out the message of the whole project. This is, undoubtedly, the most personal track i have ever made, trumping its predecessor by quite a bit.
Visually this was exactly the same, if not more amount of work than the track itself. And i think that this time it might've been for the worse. I had big ambitions when starting with the visuals, but after many revisions i realized i do not yet possess the proper skillset to accomplish these. So i kind-of threw away my ambition and made whatever came to mind. Therefore the mixed results. There are parts that i am happy with, but also parts that i am sure i should've spent more time on. Polish, or more precisely, lack there of, was also a problem. The blender file became very messy very quickly which made navigation and bugfixing a chore. However i believe that amongst all this negativity, i got to learn new things and also found something new for myself.
Upcoming releases are going to be more for-fun and i am really looking forward to the future now that this is out of the way :)
