4:23 Extra context: After I released this spreadsheet into the public, FairVote’s page was outdated. Based on the timings and numbers of interactions with the spreadsheet and associated short link, it appeared to me as though some reps from FairVote found it and were using it as a guide to help them update their site. This is a baseless claim and I have no evidence to support it.

While that does not back up my point about voter behavior trends, it shows how IRV is an inefficient use of funds.

17:16 There’s a point that I missed about non-additivity: transparency. The full ballot data is not released in many IRV races, which is necessary for independent audits. But if the full ballot data was released, particularly in races that allowed many rankings with many candidates, voter anonymity could be lost. From what I understand, concerns about anonymity have been dampened recently because voter coercion and vote selling are difficult to scale and have been found to be more expensive per vote than campaigning. However, an argument could be made that a single case of voter coercion is unacceptable. Personally, I have mixed feelings on the issue of anonymity right now, but the fact that anonymity cannot be guaranteed alongside auditability is cause for concern.
