Soo Line #99115 was one of 115 cabooses of the same design built by the American Car & Foundry in 1911 for the Wisconsin Central. Nine more of the same design were later built by the Soo Line's Shoreham Shops. It spent the majority of its working career based at Schiller Park, IL and was retired in 1967. It was moved to Mid-Continent Railway Museum in 1969 by its private owner. It remained at North Freedom over the decades as one of several privately-owned cars that rent track space at Mid-Continent's North Freedom yard.

In 2020, the caboose's owner sold it to Evergreen Campsites and Resort in Wild Rose, WI. It was loaded onto a truck on October 15, 2020 to begin the journey to its new home. The process was recorded on Mid-Continent's webcams and turned into this timelapse video.
