Odata and FileMaker: A replacement for ODBC? - François Dubé
Since FileMaker 19, there is a new way for sharing your data with external systems: OData. OData is an old player in this world but Claris decided it was a good time to add their implementation of this standard in the FileMaker platform. And we are glad they made it!
In this session, we will walk through my exploration process that leads me to find an alternative to ODBC sharing. I will explain the context of this adventure, what is OData, what you need to prepare for your database to be OData ready and will look at different possibilities, where FileMaker act as a data source for external 3rd party apps, like Microsoft Excel, Power Query, Tableau, Power Automate and more.
