"Desert Treasure" from MAP08 of Eviternity II.
When I asked Bri what he wanted for Oblation's music, the reference track he sent me was "I Would For You" by Nine Inch Nails. I liked how this song starts out very quiet but steadily grows and evolves, culminating in a guitar solo that plays a repeating phrase.
This overall structure became the basis for Desert Treasure, I began writing the track with the drum beat and piano line, and kept adding more elements on top of it, as well as the chorus sections which feature my first attempt at writing a drum solo, and the 7/8 bridges.
I quite like how the evolution of the piece can be seen on the visualiser, it starts out so empty but towards the end of the track, pretty much the whole screen is covered :D
MAP08 was actually one of the last map slots I called music dibs on, but the MIDI was written in about a week during September 2023. And yes, the title is a RuneScape reference :)
