Was there ever a chance the Netflix version could beat the original Avatar: the Last Airbender? No, of course not, but in the 8 episodes of series/season 1 they make a decent attempt to introduce a new generation to this great story. I like the actors, the special effects are really good in my opinion and the overall feel is certainly there. They do tone down some of the conflict between characters which I find a shame because the characerisation, the journey these people go on and the way society is depicted are the strong aspects of this story (and franchise).
I'd saw watch it, especially if you have no interest in watching the Nickelodeon original.
Can't believe I forgot Appa's name during recording!
