Taken in the highlands of Bolivia in winter 2022, 2023 and autumn 2024 (southern hemisphere seasons), the bulk of this video was taken on an iPhone 15 handheld, with no gimble. Some of the footage was obtained from my photo tours whilst leading, on which it is impossible to also film professional footage. However, there is some nightscape timelapse taken on Nikon and Sony cameras, alongside footage from a DJi Mini 3 and DJi Mini 4 Pro.
The film still shows the incredible landscapes of the Bolivian highlands (The Altiplano), a region that is home to the famous salt flats (Salar de Uyuni) and the old rail town of Uyuni.
Travelling the Bolivian Altiplano requires sleeping at a minimum of 3600m to 4500m and in the depths of the highlands, passing roads that scale 5500m plains. The area has unique volcanic geology and phenomena alongside diverse wildlife capturing the hearts of all who travel this very special place.
