Time-Lapse Painting 'Light Through the Rhododendrons'.
I took lots of pictures throughout my painting process at Cockington Court this Summer and have put them together to show the painting from start to finish.
The Rhododendrons are situated just along the drive at the front the of the Manor House and are famous for their impressive springtime show of pink flowers.
For me, it was how the light shone through their winding woody stems at a certain time of day and I returned repeatedly to capture this in a larger painting, taking shelter under the lime trees on the opposite side. The tree in the middle at the back is a Juniper.
Marissa Wakefield, director at Cockington Court, was keen to accommodate me during my solo show at the kitchen gallery and throughout the duration of this painting and has helped to foster a new and exciting approach to painting that I hope to continue to develop!
