In this 3D animation I used SideFX Houdini and the RBD material fracture to voronoi fracture a 3D statue into small pieces made of concrete and then used the RBD Bullet Solver to simulate those fractured pieces crumbling and falling down. I used custom glue constraints to connect the large pieces together and have the glue constraints break apart based on the impact force.
The 3D model for the bressant statue was downloaded from ThreeDScans.

I then used Solaris and the Nvidia Omniverse Houdini Connector (Omniverse USD ROP) to export this simulation into USD, and brought the 3D animation into USD Composer for real time rendering using RTX Path Tracing with a 3080Ti. In future I'll be adding an animated VDB of a smoke simulation from Embergen to add more realism to this animation. Lastly the render sequence was composited using After Effects.
