Professor Michelle Kuttel is the Head of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Cape Town.Prof. Kuttel has taught in Computer Science for over 20 years and has been steering the development of a new major in Artificial Intelligence, which will be offered by the Department of Computer Science from 2025.
Her research falls within in the broad area of computational science: the use of computation to solve problems of scientific interest. Her primary research focus is on the use of molecular modelling to predict the shape and interactions of molecules that play key roles bacterial infection processes, in order to inform the development of vaccines. She also has expertise in data visualisation and high performance computing.
Keegan Steyn, a distinguished executive, and PhD candidate has demonstrated a trajectory in strategic management and business transformation across diverse sectors. With a foundation in clinical psychology and organizational behaviour, he pivoted to strategic roles, profoundly impacting enterprise PMO and agile methodologies. At Sanlam, beyond his responsibilities as Executive Head of the Agile PMO, Keegan is part of a team spearheading AI adoption across the group. He plays a pivotal role in driving the integration of generative AI and innovative technologies to enhance operational efficiencies and foster digital transformation.
