Butt plate and Recoil pad installation, Winchester 1897.
After removing the old rock hard recoil pad from my Winchester 1897 I go through the process of installing a reproduction Winchester 1897 butt plate on my shotgun. This could also be used as to install a recoil pad or butt plate on any wood stocked shotgun. The process will be the same if your old screw holes do not match the new holes on your butt plate/recoil pad.
The process involved drilling out the existing screw holes, putting dowels in, drilling new screw holes and then fitting the butt plate to the stock of the shotgun.
The job was easier than I thought and only took a few hours to complete after the glue spent 24 hours drying. It was my intention to make a shorter video describing the process but the full length more in depth videos are listed below.
