Shirakawago Winter 白川郷
Shirakawago is located in central Japan. The village of Shirakawago with iconic steep thatched houses is gazetted as an UNESCO site.
The bus journey from Nagoya to Shirakawago is 3.5hrs and cost 3,600 Yen (return). I remembered it as a very cold and wet winter day with lots of noisy tourists. Luckily the footages told another story.
