In this video, I take you through a solar shed upgrade designed to boost solar input voltage, improve charge controller performance, and help charge my 48V battery system more effectively.
I explain how I transitioned from a 2S5P solar panel configuration at around 61V to a higher-voltage setup that allows roughly 120V input into the charge controller. This helps the charge controller gather solar energy more efficiently and can improve battery charging performance, especially in a 48V solar system.
We’ll talk through why solar panel configuration matters, how series and parallel wiring affect voltage and amperage, and why getting the right input voltage can make a big difference in how your MPPT charge controller performs.
