In conjunction with March Caprice 2.0 (marchcaprice.com) Celebration of Kingdom Hearts,@AllisonMartin (a super cool and talented trombonist!) and I decided to collaborate on this special music cover of "The Little Chef" from Kingdom Hearts III, originally composed by Tsuyoshi Sekito.
Ahem~ before I say more on the music, can we agree how cool is her Anyone can Cook apron?! I have to play my part to make this special episode interesting by including a stop-motion attempt. Because, why not Kirby x Sora crossover?? The universe says it makes sense. I tried xD
Anyway, HUGE thanks to Allison on the trombone! Allison wrote four trombone parts with incredibly smart variation of countermelodies and harmonic structure, adding a warm bass harmony yet lively tone to the piece! In mid section, I featured some harp staccatos solo, then complemented Allison's fast-paced trombone articulations in later section with the lead melody and gliss improvisations. Also managed to sneaked in "Working Together" motif as the intro ~ ;)
This piece was premiered in the concert soirée, a 3-hour-long concert program kindly put together by Kinode and the march caprice team, featuring also other passionate musicians celebrating KH music with their unique takes. Check out their works too!
