S-parameter/Transfer function with the Bode 100

In this video tutorial we show the difference between a s-parameter measurement and a transfer function measurement. The s-parameter measurement is commonly referred as vector network analysis whereas the transfer function measurement is normally called frequency response analysis. The difference between the two measurements is that the s-parameter measurement is done in a specified impedance system. In this case we measure in the 50Ohm system. The transfer function measurement is not related to a special characteristic impedance but compares the output voltage to the input voltage of an electronic system.
Both measurements are performed on a 25MHz high-pass filter using the Bode 100 VNA.

Used Measurement Equipment:

Bode 100 -- The Bode 100 is a vector network analyzer that serves as a frequency response analyzer, a gain phase meter and impedance meter as well as a sine wave generator. It can be controlled via the Bode Analyzer Suite, a graphical user interface. An OLE compatible automation interface allows easy implementation into automated systems.
