There is a serious housing crisis in the United States. Too many Americans find themselves paying exorbitant prices to house themselves or their family, and some cannot afford a home at all. The next generation of idealistic and passionate leaders is ready to address this challenge. Each summer, Bike & Build participants, ages 18-25, ride their bicycles across the United States to raise money and awareness for affordable housing. We stop in communities along our eight routes either to build with a local housing affiliate or share the goal of creating affordable, decent housing for all Americans. Our riders have raised nearly $3.4 million since our founding in 2002; each year, we grant those funds to housing organizations across the country. Bike & Build unlocks the potential of young adults to do incredible things. We strive to leverage the commitment our riders make into a life-long dedication to service.
