AHOPE stands for African HIV Orphans: Project Embrace. AHOPE started nearly a decade ago as a hospice for HIV+ orphans who needed to be comforted and cared for before they passed away.

Today, because of the availability of anti-retroviral treatment, AHOPE has evolved into a children's home and community outreach organization supporting over 250 HIV+ children and families. In our homes, we care for, nurture, educate and encourage HIV+ children who are destitute. We are also providing our teenagers the life-skills and job training they need as they become young adults.

We work with children and their families through AHOPE's community outreach program. Every day HIV+ children in the community are brought to the Child Development Center (CDC) and library where AHOPE provides them with nutritious food, clothing, medicine and schooling. Through the Center, AHOPE also provides training to their guardians and promotes community cohesiveness to help fight HIV/AIDS stigma. AHOPE also provides home-based care to HIV+ children and their families who live outside the city.

Join us and make a difference in a child's life today.
