Migrating to Prometheus: what I learned running it in production by Marco Pracucci
An easy-to-follow talk about Prometheus from the user perspective, including lessons learned running it in production at Spreaker. The talk will quickly go through Prometheus architecture, metrics scraping and query language, and will then move to show real use-cases about monitoring nodes, applications, and business metrics. It will also include some tips on what we learned running it in production, from how to avoid (or at least reduce) false positives to how to optimize the memory usage.
