RS virus - what happens in your lungs?
Almost all children experience an infection with the RSV virus (Respiratory Syncytial Virus or RSV) at a young age. The RSV virus causes infections of the respiratory tract, such as the nose, throat, trachea, and lungs. In most healthy children and adults, it causes symptoms resembling a common cold, with a runny nose, nasal congestion, and sometimes a mild fever. For children under two years of age, and particularly babies younger than six months, an infection with the RSV virus can be dangerous.
