Caravans and swirling fires - journey in a locked country
Personal testimony (with subtitlling) of a trip to the Danakil Depression in the Afar region of Northeast Ethiopia. The Afar region is one of the most inhospitable areas on Earth with a unique geology and culture. The area is extremely difficult to access; at the moment it is even completely unreachable. In a small group with LandCruisers we visit the unique open volcano Erta-Ale, the Assale salt flat, the Dalol volcanic field with fantastic colors and salt miners who extract salt as they have been doing for hundreds of years.
