Operators can utilize both Samsung's traditional baseband and virtualized baseband to enhance energy efficiencies during network operation.
*Notes : Energy saving features for the baseband include the following.
. Channel card, Modem on/off : Turning the channel card or modem off when all cells attached to said channel card or modem is in "cell off" mode
. Dynamic frequency scaling : Lowering the CPU modem and clock speed during low traffic load
. Dynamic core sleeping/Adaptive core allocation : Changing the C-state level of CPU cores of commercial servers
