First Call over 100% Pure Software vRAN
Samsung successfully collaborated with AMD to demonstrate the industry’s first end-to-end call with AMD’s processors. This was completed by leveraging Samsung’s vRAN software, integrated with AMD EPYC™ processors on Supermicro’s servers, supported by Wind River Studio Cloud Platform. This first call is a significant milestone in Samsung’s vRAN journey as AMD’s processors enable 100% pure software vRAN. The collaboration among the four companies is expected to provide operators with optimized performance and maximized energy efficiencies in their commercial networks. Samsung will continue to advance vRAN innovations by building a strong ecosystem through diverse partnerships.
