Every F1 season gets punctuated by the driver shuffle. Teams do their best to secure the next hot prospect for the new season, or drivers try to move their way up the grid. Sometimes, drivers are even sacked before their contract is up. There are two things that have started the driver shuffle speculation so early in the season. The first is Zac Brown talking about Daniel Ricciardo underperforming at McLaren. Daniel’s boss is not particularly impressed by his performances this season and is starting to lose patience with the Australian driver. The second is Sergio Perez signing a new contract with Red Bull. I know a driver signing a new contract isn’t normally something that hints at a driver shuffle but it will all make sense when we explain later.
