In Formula 1, teams are given specific technical regulations that they have to follow by letter to compete. Most teams will try to find holes in the rules to gain an advantage over the others. But going into the grey zones sometimes is not enough to win in the biggest and most demanding competition in motorsport. In the past, there have been many incidents where teams were racing in illegal conditions and individuals altered the result of the race. One such incident was the famous scandal Crashgate where Nelson Piquet Jr confessed to the FIA that Flavio Briatore and Pat Symonds ordered him to crash the car, bringing out a safety car and ensuring Alonso’s victory in the Singapore Grand Prix of 2008.
