*Moses Calling*
: : : : : : : :
God called *Moses 'cross the desert sand
*a gold chained brother with blood on his hands
And so I wonder and try to understand:
if I seek and follow will You take me as I am?
God called Abram, God called Abraham
up out of comfort, into a foreign land
Who were his children? What did they hope to see?
What weary-eyed promises keep a father on his feet?
The Lord loved *Jacob *called a liar and a thief
What was his struggle? And what was laid at his feet?
Soup bowl in his hands, sheep skin on his arm
I'm thinkin' 'bout honesty honestly tryin' to do no harm
The Lord called David, to kill a man with a sling
The Lord called David, to play before the king
The Lord called David, naked before the throne
But he saw he bathin' and took her naked into his home
: : : : : : : :
The Lord called Daniel, the Lord called Joseph, too
A fiery furnace, a torn coat and imprisoned youth
Dreams delivered, meditations of the Truth
Now I'm out here breathin' -- I lay awake and dream of You
Yea, God called Moses from a basket to a cave
to lead His people to a land through the waves
Elijah in the fire, Noah in a house of wood
Now here I am just tryin' to live Love like I should
