Mountaineering Gone Wrong - HORROR ON ANNAPURNA

This video is about Annapurna I, the most dangerous mountain in the world. But before we go any further, don't forget to subscribe to our channel.

The only reason you should be here is that you're interested. Or, you sly guy, you're taking part in a bar quiz. No matter what, we don't think you should try to find this mountain. Find out which mountain you're most likely to die on while climbing on purpose, and then climb that mountain for fun and laughs. So just say no and stay at home. Watch some alpine movies or read a mountaineering book instead of scratching that itch.

the trek around Annapurna

Things to put on a bucket list are breathtaking views from high up, beautiful scenery, and the world's highest passable route.

This video also talks about a lot of death. I'm sorry, but that's pretty much what deadly means.
WHAT'S THE MOST DANGEROUS MOUNTAIN?

Who is the most dangerous of all, the mirror, on the wall? Well, Guinness World Records says that Annapurna I is the most dangerous mountain in the world. There is a world record for it, but we don't think the mountain would want a copy of the record. This might surprise you. Most people would say that K2 or Everest is the most dangerous mountain in the world. There is no doubt that K2 has a long history of killing and destruction. Everest gets a lot of visitors for a mountain that is 8000 meters tall. But as of this making this video, it's not the well-known Annapurna I.

HOW TO DEFINE ANNAPURNA I

Annapurna I is the tenth-highest peak in the world. It is 8091 meters above sea level, which is a very high number. It is a part of the Annapurna massif in Nepal. You may have seen it while trekking in the Annapurna area. Same place, but you go up the mountains instead of going around them. Annapurna I is the tallest mountain in a group of six peaks called Annapurna I–IV, Annapurna South, and Gangapurna. We don't think the last one was made by accident. All of these peaks, except for Annapurna I, are below the hard-to-reach 8000-meter mark.

ANNAPURNA I: WHAT MAKES IT THE MOST DEADLY MOUNTAIN?
Simply put, it's because more people die on the summit than make it out alive than anywhere else in the world. One person dies for every three people who successfully climb and descend the mountain.

Yes, some mathematicians may wonder, "What about the people who don't reach the top but also don't die?" First of all, I'm glad they changed their minds before it was too late. Second, we don't know. It's not clear how Guinness World Records puts this in their statistics. It might not be the kind of mountain where you can decide halfway up, "Nah, let's go down the bar instead."

A HISTORY OF CLIMBING (AND FAILURES)
If you've ever read about mountaineering or done it yourself, you know that most people die on the way down. Many people think that the peak is the end of the race, where you get the trophy and start the party. However, it is the halfway point. You can't say that the summit was a success until you get back to the base and tell everyone what happened.

Yes, there are a lot of smaller mountains that aren't too far from help. But when you're high up on a big, inaccessible peak like Annapurna I, you'll be the most vulnerable and the farthest from the help of the whole trip. You now turn around and head back toward safety.

The trek along the Annapurna Sanctuary Route

Visit the lonely valleys, mountain paths, and wild rivers of the Himalayas to see some of the most beautiful places on earth.

It's not strange that so many people have died on Annapurna that I happen to be going down. But a lot of people die while climbing as well. It's sad to read the stories. Friends who are watching the deaths of their friends. Avalanches are killing climbing groups. It's enough to make you think that climbing an 8000-meter peak would be like killing yourself. The usual suspects are to blame: bad weather, being tired, running out of oxygen, going up too slowly, and not turning around in time.

It's easy to look at how other people climb and say, "Oh well, of course, that was a mistake." However, you can't help but consider whether you would have acted similarly in their shoes. especially considering how much it costs and how hard it is to even try to reach the peak. Also, a basic way for people to deal with stress is to imagine bad things happening to someone else.

DID ANYONE SUCCEED?
Yes. Some attempts to reach the top of Annapurna have been successful in its sad history. The survival ratio is 3 to 1, so keep in mind that more people are making it. But the odds aren't good when you think that the ratio for Everest is more like 15 to 1. So it is surprising that no one died when Annapurna I was first climbed in the summer of 1950. It was also the first time anyone had tried to reach the summit. Up until that time, no other 8000-meter mountain had been climbed, so it was a pretty impressive feat overall.
