As the title of this graphic novel suggests, "Drama" chronicles all things dramatic--from everyday life in seventh and eighth grade, to Eucalyptus Middle School's production of the play "Moon Over Mississippi." Between the cast of the show, and the tech crew (where we find main character Callie), there's more than enough light-hearted early teen angst to go around. The story's dramas center mainly on romantic relationships, but there's also the excitement of putting on a play with 13- and 14-year-olds.
No profound insights or revelations in this tale, but as stories go, "Drama" is a fun romp (mostly) backstage, featuring a protagonist who--refreshingly--isn't afraid to be herself.
