You may have heard "Identity is the new perimeter", but what is Identity and how does it relate to firewalls? Once we know what Identity is, we can use it to secure our systems, simplify our infrastructure and make creating new features easier.
We will go into why Identity is important and the role it has in software development. We will also explore options for managing (or not managing) identity and their benefits.
About Mitchell Pomery - Chief Problem Solver
Mitchell Pomery is a Software Engineer and Identity/Security Developer who has recently moved to Sydney. He has been a Computer Technician, Domain Administrator, Production Support Engineer and most recently a DevOps engineer. He has always been interested in physical and digital security, both how to building securely and then figuring out how to break in.
