How I record tech events with OBS using a camera, wireless audio, and screen capture device
I've been asked about the recording equipment I use for the various events that I run. I use a combination of a webcam, wireless mic, and HDMI capture device to splice presentation feeds in to the recording in real-time and have a single video to upload as soon as the talk is done.

I bought the second generation model, which I'm told has the same innards. The third gen model has push button software switches for switching between line and instrument inputs, and an "air" mode which is more useful in live music scenarios than meetups and conferences

I bought one from a local Australian electronics store. Make sure you get a mains-powered splitter - the USB-powered ones, in my experience, aren't as good quality.

I bought a 15m amplified HDMI cable so I can set the recording equipment farther away in the room. The splitter sits near the presenter's laptop, and the second output goes to the recording area through this cable.
Wireless HDMI Transmitter?
I tried this as an alternative to the 15m cable, but the quality and latency wasn't ideal. I'll be sticking to a cable.
