The Avata is a SUPER fun drone and a great drone for learning FPV (especially if you are coming from a DJI drone) The ability to be able to switch in and out of Manual mode mid-flight is invaluable.
I'm a professional videographer and engineer working in broadcast, pro sports, and film. Experienced with drones but new to FPV. Learning with the DJI Avata and posting tips along the way.
Does practicing in a SIM translate to real FPV flight? Absolutely! Is it perfect? No. I spent over 60 hours in the Uncrashed SIM on Steam. Fun levels, realistic graphics, and a great way to learn or improve your FPV skills. I highly recommend getting confident in the SIM before you go out and fly for the first time.
