Kalfort ( Puurs) maakt zich klaar voor haar 36ste Maria-ommegang.
Kalfort is een gehucht van de gemeente Puurs, gelegen in Klein-Brabant in de provincie Antwerpen. Het telt ongeveer 2350 inwoners.
In augustus staat Kalfort even scherper op de landkaart. Dan vindt de jaarlijkse Maria-ommegang plaats, die duizenden bedevaarders en kijklustigen naar de parochie lokt. Door deze bedevaart naar Onze-Lieve-Vrouw ten Traan heeft het dorp een plaats in de geschiedenis verworven. De ommegang valt samen met de kermis, die een hele week lang Kalfort in feeststemming brengt . De Maria-ommegang vindt altijd plaats de 2de zondag na 15 augustus.

Eng: Kalfort ( Puurs) is getting ready for its 36th Mariaommegang.
Kalfort is a hamlet of the municipality of Puurs, located in Klein-Brabant in the province of Antwerp. It has about 2,350 inhabitants.
In August, Kalfort is even more sharply on the map. That's when the annual Marian pilgrimage takes place, attracting thousands of pilgrims and sightseers to the parish. This pilgrimage to Our Lady of the Tear has earned the village a place in history. The procession coincides with the fair, which puts Kalfort in a festive mood for a whole week . The procession always takes place the 2nd Sunday after August 15.
