FSAE Car VS cheap GoKart
Fun Video I found from pre Michigan Testing Session with F0711-12. We brought a cheap Go Kart just for fun with us to compare and skid around. It was kinda nice to see that all the effort we put in our Racecars is resulting in something much faster than a 1000€ Kart you can get over eBay from your Neighbourhood. Would have been bad if not, tbh.
The kart is loosing time at every driving condition; Acceleration (less power), cornering (no aero) and braking (just rw brakes), resulting in a big time difference even though we fitted the stickiest slicks we could get for the Kart (Vega).
The kart, being more narrow, has only advantages when driven through tight sections. But it can't gain much benefit from it cause it's so limited at cornering because of the missing aero.
Power to weight:
F0711-12 85hp/255kg (with driver): 0,33hp/kg
Go Kart 25hp/165kg (with driver): 0,15hp/kg
