Is a 7 speed bicycle hub useful for on a lathe
I got a free 7 speed Sparta bicycle to scrap, and I'm wondering if a gear hub will be any good for selecting different speeds on a small lathe. Probably not, but who knows, YouTube is full of people trying stupid things for some attention :)
I think this idea will never happen but I am curious how much torque a hub like this can handle.
If anyone got some experience using one of these to drive a lathe I would like to hear from you.
