Towards the end of summer, the Russian Circuit Racing Series held not just a stage, but a super stage. On Friday and Saturday, cars of all existing classes took part in half-hour sprint races: from Zhiguli and Moskvich historical cars to Mercedes-Benz and Toyota supercars. And on Sunday there was a four-hour endurance race. In total, the weekend brought together more than a hundred cars and one hundred and fifty drivers. It is not surprising that Igora Drive became the arena for the super stage. Artem Slutsky: “In my opinion, this is the best track we have in Russia. And it’s great that it is located in my city. True, and with the exception of the regulations that prohibit training here every day, I would ride here every day." Irina Sidorkova: "The track, in principle, is difficult in itself: due to the fact that it is long. It is very easy to lose a lot here due to the fact that you lose a little bit everywhere. Plus, the turns are very diverse: some are fast, some are slow..." Alexey Basov: "A wonderful third sector. This is a difference in altitude, this is practically braking from a straight line - it is visually braking, but you should probably not brake. Because that climb up the hill, it slows the car down when entering that turn, when entering the third sector." Vladimir Lobachev: "Left up the hill. Where there's a really good G-force. The car squats at first. Then it shoots back with its springs, turns into the turn... An incredibly steep turn - probably the only one of its kind on our calendar. I really like it." For the first time, the BR03 prototype of the Lekar Team took to the start of the four-hour race. And this is a historic moment. After all, previously prototypes were only exhibited by the factory SMP Racing team, although the car was initially created with the idea that it could be rented and bought by different drivers and teams. Kirill Ladygin: “I had concerns, because the speeds are high - how will it cope? But, surprisingly, this is a completely predictable car, safe. You can step on the gas early in a turn, and you will not be thrown out of the turn. The main thing here is not to make a mistake during a pit stop, so as not to earn penalty points - keep an eye on this, do not rush. Races are long, many hours long... The main thing here is precise calculation.” Even without rushing, the Lecar crew took the lead by the middle of the race. However, it was another BR03, driven by drivers more familiar with the car, that crossed the finish line first. Vitaly Petrov and Sergey Sirotkin took their second consecutive victory this season.
