UPRT, CL604 full rudder deflection in cruise, shocking outcome
This is a demonstration what happens, if you make a sudden full rudder deflection at high altitude and at cruise speed with a swept wing aircraft. As the demonstration was outside the A/B-envelope of the simulator, the real aircraft may react differently.
We did it, to replay the situation of the CL604 suffering from wake trubulence behind an A380 in 2017. There was a rudder input before the aircraft tumbled out of the sky.
The outcome during our demo in the simulator was more than shocking!
