Using your iPad with Ableton, rtpMIDI, and Apollo Sound Injector
This video covers some of the ways you can use your iPad, and in this case Ableton Live (though any desktop DAW should work similarly), together. First we take a look at setting up a midi track in Ableton, sending that sequence to our iPad apps over WiFi via rtpMIDI, and recording their output right back into Live via an audio interface.
I then unplug the iPad from the interface to take a look at wirelessly sending audio from the iPad into Ableton. I use Apollo Remote Recorder on the iPad and Sound injector VST for the desktop. Other apps used include MidiBridge, Audiobus, FunkBox, and Magellan.
