Herrgottsblick (Austria) - Schweben (Demo 2024)
Herrgottsblick 5th release.
After 4 releases that gravitated more towards a classical, minimalist Dungeon Synth approach, Herrgottsblick takes a different direction in "Schweben", with what's, in my opinion, the project's best output to date.
As stated by the artist, "Schweben" goes toward a more cinematic territory, creating a highly hypnotic and antiquated atmosphere, that's equally Dark Ambient as it is Dungeon Synth. Still incorporating some familiar, innocent -and delicate synth lines, this release is much more lo-fi, noisy and analog sounding, resulting in a much more antique sound, which is also permeated by various bizarre samples and field-recordings.
Like an old cryptic recording, found buried and decaying under a dying oak tree atop a hill, mournfully gazing over the dying planes, encasing the finally testimonies of a moribund poet.
Something that should definitely please fans of the Attic Shrines projects, particularly cassilda, Magic Find and Pallid Blood.
Released on tape via Födweg in cooperation with Tour de Garde, digital through the project's bandcamp page.
