How to bonsai a black locust (robinia pseudoacacia) in a couple easy steps! This process works for most small trees. 1) Gently dig up the tree. 2) Select a bonsai pot. 3) Add a half inch of gravel to the pot. 4) Add an inch of soil. 5) Trim the tree roots down to fit in the pot, be sure to leave as many thin fibrous roots as possible. 6) Position the tree in the pot and then cover the rest of the way with soil and pack it down around the roots. 7) Water and put the plant in the shade to recover. **The black locust did not like me tampering with its roots, so it got really stressed and drop some leaves. Only prune the minimum amount of roots necessary to get the tree into the new pot. Thanks for watching and I'm happy to answer any questions!
