Check Your Windshield Wipers #travel #automobile/Prepare Before the Storm. Some cars and trucks have two wipers and some have three or four. Whatever your vehicle has, check them all. It’s next to impossible to drive in a downpour with bad wipers. Wipers can last between three to twelve months. Extreme heat causes blade damage and icy weather shreds wiper blades. If you live in the southwest, extreme heat will do your wipers in by drying out the rubber blade. If you live in the northeast, freezing weather will do your wipers in by shredding the rubber blade. If your wipers are leaving streaks, chances are the rubber blade has hardened and no longer contours to the glass. If your wipers are chattering as it cross the glass, chances are the rubber blade has become distorted and is bouncing across the glass. If your wipers are smearing, chances are the rubber blade is worn out or is too old to be effective. Want to know more? Watch my video “How to Prepare Your Car Before a Storm”.
