Here’s a question I hear often: “I’m being asked to carry out a decision I disagree with. What do I do?”
What I’ve come to learn over the years is that, this question generally comes up because the person wants to speak up, but is lacking the courage to do so.
In my experience there’s usually one of two things getting in the way of their courage:
Don’t feel equipped (Knowledge/Skill/Experience)
Don’t feel safe (Trust)
Whether it’s lacking the “know how” or trust, in order to build courage to take the action, action is required.
