“The majority of people here that have any type of success are anything but introverted. Walking the road to success here you have no choice but to step out of that shell.”
These are the words of a leader I connected with recently.
As I had this conversation, I realized how problematic this way of thinking is. The challenge it creates for both the individual and the organization when it comes to leadership and growth.
It also made me think how difficult it would be for someone who is introverted in an organization such as this to step forward in their strengths. Especially considering that 30-40% of the population is introverted.
It’s a miss.
So, I'd like to take the opportunity to debunk a few of the misconceptions surrounding introversion.
