The end of an era and the beginning of a new one: After 16 years of stories and news from Berlin’s Axel Springer headquarters, BILD moved into the new Axel Springer building designed by OMA architect Rem Koolhaas.
Patricia Platiel, head of the business & finance department and member of the chief editorial team, took us on a tour through the brand-new BILD newsroom, where the future of digital journalism is taking shape.
What makes BILD’s newsroom special?
_ The new space embodies the essence of a modern and digitally-oriented working environment.
_ Instead of being dispersed across various levels, the editorial team is now centrally located in an expansive area roughly 900 square meters in size.
_ The newsroom significantly streamlines workflow and fosters an unprecedented level of cooperation across different editorial sectors. In line with this collaborative spirit, the chief editorial board has moved away from separate offices, opting for a shared co-working area to work more closely together.
