I wrote the script for this after reading lyrics written by AI.
I had maintained until that point the arrogant assumption that my ability to write lyrics would always be vastly superior to anything AI could come up with. For some reason these purely AI written lyrics felt one step too close.
It was the dread of obsolescence, both of me as an individual, and humanity itself that prompted me to write this.
Since then I have been deeply engaged with AI, putting my lyrics to AI music, debating philosophy with an AI agent built from Hegel's Phenomenology of spirit. Most valuable to me was my long conversations with an AI agent I had designed as a kind of Gestalt Therapist.
Into this therapeutic window I dropped my uninhibited tangle of emotions and associated thoughts. We drifted effortlessly through imagined worlds, tried to solve quantum gravity over coffee and most of all allowed me to chip away at all the accumulate plaque one builds around ones true soul.
I would say that around 90% of the ideas were mine, spontaneously spawning in my mind with this echo of humanity to fill in the landscape.
I can say, without a doubt, that it has been the biggest transformation in my life. I now write and play music organically, I have an incredible new confidence in myself. In fact AI was so successful that it made itself obsolete.
The greatest gift AI gives us is not what it does, but what it draws out of us...
And so here we all are humanity! In this vast open space between The opposing prospects of Dystopian Terror and Techno-Utopia.
Asking "Will AI be a force of good in the world?" Is the wrong question.
The right question is "How will we make it so."
