Well known hip hop duo Wayne Butler and Daryl McGrath wrote this song together to express how unhappy they were with their own existences. Wayne had just bought a book on buddhism from Vinnie's (St Vincent De Paul Op Shop) called The Wisdom of the No Escape by Pema Chodron. While he lacked to focus or motivation to actually read it, he thought it was a pretty cool title. Daryl added after a pretty heavy session of smoking weed and staring at a huntsman spider in the corner of the room, "Should be the Freedom of the No Escape".
To which Wayne replied.
"Totally man!"
And so this song was born.
