recipe Of street food as a homemade version.Easy to prepare and incredibly delicious and healthy recipe.
Shakarkandi, also known as sweet potatoes, are nutrient-dense, delicious root vegetables. The sweet potato is creamy and soft enough to be used in various pie recipes, and most people think of it as a dessert ingredient. On the other hand, sweet potatoes have been discovered by scientists to be one of the best sources of Vitamin A.The shakarkandi contains a lot of nutrients and has a lot of medicinal benefits. According to research, sweet potatoes have anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, and anticancer properties.
I love sweet potatoes, and what better way to have them than in the form of chaat?
This is a homemade version of the street food, Shakarkandi,(sweet potato)which is sold by street vendors in India and Pakistan. Sweet potatoes are cooked on coals and in some areas it boiled in water and seasoned with citrus fruit juice and spices. The acidity of the juice cuts through the sweetness of the potatoes and the spices enhance all the flavors.
I believe this is a winter street food; Whenever i visit some place where shakrkandi is available i must try a plate of Shakarkandi.
I’ve seasoned the Shakarkandi with Orange juice for a sharp but sweet flavour and also perfectly complements the flavors of winter time! I’ve also used to roast it on tawa to give that smoky flavor that you would get from the coals.
